The following Biblical passage was, of course, originally intended for God's ancient people Israel, but the United States has enjoyed the blessing of it because from the inception of the nation, faith in the Living God and the salvation He provides through Jesus Christ has been foundational to the country.
In the days before POLITICAL POWER (described as follows this posting) became a control over and a method of subjugation of the freedom of the people, this free land was under the strong influence of men of faith and a populace that bowed its knee only to God.
May we embrace our Savior again, so He may set us free, free eternally and free from political tyranny!
Psalm 33:12-22
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
13 The Lord looked from heaven; He beheld all the sons of men.
14 From the place of His habitation he looked upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15 He fashioned their hearts alike; He considered all their works.
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength (military might shall fail).
18 But behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord: He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in You.
