The Amazing Part of Grace

The most AMAZING part of GRACE is that although HE gives it freely, we are disinclined to see it. We are so engrossed in our conviction that we are right, that we are above reproach, that we cannot recognize our profound need and our unfathomable gift.
LORD, give us eyes to see and hearts to understand YOUR mercy and grace. Give us all we need to recognize YOU, our SAVIOR and soon-coming KING.

The Root of the Fruit

Joyce Meyer Ministries

If you’re frustrated by a bad attitude and not sure how to begin to overcome it, you need to discover the root of the fruit. Sometimes there are obvious reasons we feel lousy. It may be a bad habit, like not eating right or staying up too late at night. I always feel bad the next day when I eat too much sugar and carbohydrates. The simple solution is to eat healthier and go to bed at a decent time.
On a spiritual level, maybe you care too much about what people think about you to the point you are letting them control you. As a result you always say “yes” to people when you really want to say, “no.” Or you wake up feeling bad because you did something wrong the day before and haven’t repented of it yet. Now you’re reaping the consequences. But 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”

A SPECIAL BANQUET TO VISIT

A SPECIAL BANQUET TO VISIT by Howard Vanderwell
"A dinner was given in Jesus’ honor." John 12:2
Here’s a banquet I would love to have attended! Many of us have had that experience; we’ve heard about a special event and wish we’d been included. Many of us can remember the look of broken-heartedness on one of our children’s faces when they heard about a birthday party and they were not invited.
Well, let’s imagine we’re at this banquet, given in Jesus’ honor. It must have been at the home of Mary and Martha in Bethany. These women were Jesus’ close friends, the ones he relaxed with, the ones whose brother was Lazarus. Yes, Lazarus, the one who had been in the tomb for four days when Jesus brought him back to life! (See John 11.)
Just look around the banquet room. There’s Jesus! There are His disciples and his friends, Mary and Martha. Some other friends are present. And there’s Lazarus, the same man whom Jesus had miraculously raised from the dead! You can’t have a man like that at a banquet without him being at the center of attention! The banquet was clearly in Jesus’ honor because the resurrection of Lazarus had established Jesus’ reputation in that community.
Wouldn’t you love to have been there celebrating with Jesus? I would. Would you have asked Jesus about his miracles? Would you have lavishly anointed his feet with perfume like Mary? Or would you have just sat there in quiet awe?
There are many other events from those days that I’d love to have witnessed as well. I often think about that during the season of Lent. As we follow the theme “Were You There?” this week, let’s imagine together that we’re “on location” at the times when some of the most momentous events in history took place.
PRAYER: Gracious Lord, accept my deep thanks for coming to this earth to be my Savior. As I look in to observe your life and death this week, stir my faith in you. In your name, Amen.

Media Now Calling for Truth

Media Now Calling for Truth by Bill Wilson
The problem with the outrageous, hate-filled lies the Democratic Party leadership has been spewing, not only in the wake of the Mueller Special Counsel report, but also previous to that, is the news media being their mouthpiece. While we know that the neo-communists in the Democratic Party are playing politics, the news media is supposed to be unbiased in its reporting. It has not been.
The pasty faced news commentators received a deep blow of reality when the Mueller report cleared the President and his campaign. They had been participating in the blood lust of partisan politics and now they should be embarrassed and owe the American people not only an apology, but also a change in their biased reporting.
One such media outlet that recognized its fault was The Hill. The Hill was totally on the anti-Trump bandwagon, repeating any and all the nasty lies of the left. But it has issued an apology to the President and to the American people and is calling for finding out who the people are that "actually took proven, concrete steps to interfere in the 2016 election and sabotage Trump's presidency, beginning in its earliest days."
Investigative Journalist Sharyl Attkisson writes on behalf of The Hill, "We did a poor job of tracking down leaks of false information. We failed to reasonably weigh the motives of anonymous sources and those claiming to have secret, special evidence of Trump's "treason." As such, we reported a tremendous amount of false information, always to Trump's detriment.
"And when we corrected our mistakes, we often doubled down more than we apologized. We may have been technically wrong on that tiny point, we would acknowledge. But, in the same breath, we would insist that Trump was so obviously guilty of being Russian President Vladimir Putin's puppet that the technical details hardly mattered.
"So, a round of apologies seem in order. Apologies to Trump on behalf of those in the U.S. intelligence community, including the Department of Justice and the FBI, which allowed the weaponization of sensitive, intrusive intelligence tools against innocent citizens such as Carter Page, an adviser to Trump's presidential campaign.
"Apologies also to Page himself, to Jerome Corsi, Donald Trump, Jr., and other citizens whose rights were violated or who were unfairly caught up in surveillance or the heated pursuit of charges based on little more than false, unproven opposition research paid for by Democrats and the Hillary Clinton campaign."
Attkisson went through a list of apologies pointing out the wrongdoing of the FISA Court and those in the intelligence community against not only the President, but also the American people. The rest of the media should fess up and end this criminal coup attempt that has violated all Americans.
John the Baptist exhorted the Pharisees and Sadducees that he called vipers, saying in Matthew 3:8, "Bring forth therefore fruits suitable for repentance." The media can do that by ceasing to cover these liars' empty accusations.

SIMPLY TRUST

SIMPLY TRUST by Shawn Brix
The blood of Christ...[cleanses] our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!  Hebrews 9:14
There are times when almost all of us feel we need to add something to what Christ has done for us. Surely, we think, there must be some kind of additional payment we must make before we face God on Judgment Day! For some of us, this feeling can be overwhelming. We may struggle with that proverbial nagging voice that’s constantly telling us that we must be better or do more.
But the truth is that all who are united to Christ by faith owe no more than what Christ has already paid on their behalf. He has paid our debt in full!
God doesn’t embrace us as his children because we’ve been trying so hard. He doesn’t welcome us into his family because we’ve been making great spiritual strides. He doesn’t hold on to us and make us new because we’ve done something to make him proud. God is not like Santa Claus who promises special gifts if we’ve been good. He welcomes us solely because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
Under the old religious system, the blood sacrifices of goats and bulls symbolized the sacrifice needed to cleanse us from sin. But now that Christ has shed his blood for us, we are fully clean once and for all!
If you’re wondering whether you’ll ever be good enough, or if you struggle with always trying to do more and more to prove yourself to God, or if you fear meeting God, stop wondering and struggling and fearing, and simply look to Christ with a trusting, believing heart. “It is finished,” he said. Trust in him alone and find peace.

PRAYER: Forgive me, Father, for often trying to add somehow to the finished work of Jesus. The work of my hands could never add anything to the work of his! Help me to trust that what Christ did is enough. Amen.
