One Way

It's a fact that most people think they will go to Heaven...even people who don't believe in GOD think they'll end up there when they die (go figure!)

But that's not what JESUS said. He said, "Wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, but narrow is the gate and small is the way that leads to LIFE, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13, 14

How do you find that narrow way? If there truly is a Heaven, as so many believe, how can one find its narrow gate?

In a word, JESUS. He said of Himself, "I am the way, the truth, the life; no man comes to the Father but by ME." John 14:6

If you want to attain Heaven; if you want to abide eternally with Heaven's GOD, you MUST go through JESUS...HE is the narrow, uncompromising WAY TO HEAVEN; HE is the narrow GATE.

With Promise

"Honor your father and your mother, for this is the first commandment with promise." Ephesians 6:2

"...with promise." Have you ever wondered what the promise is that comes with honoring your parents? Yes, Biblically it is "long life," but there's an additional promise.

If one honors his parents, obeys them in his youth and helps them through the difficulties of old age--lovingly, without grudge or disdain--he assures himself of his own self-regard.

One who honors his parents will never have to look at himself in the mirror and say, "I had a commission from the LORD HIMSELF, and I betrayed it."

One who does not honor his parents cannot really honor himself, for he is a composite of who they are.

One who does not honor his parents cannot really honor GOD, for "How can you love God who you have not seen if you do not love man whom you have seen?" I John 4:20

What is covetousness? It is the inordinate desire for the things of the world. The Bible tells us that we must, indeed, try to provide the things needed by our family. In fact, the Scripture says that if any man does not provide for his own household, he is worse than an infidel and has denied the faith.

The Scripture also tells us to go to the ant that gathers in the summer to provide for the winter. But covetousness goes beyond providing for the needs of our family. It is the attitude of being provident run amuck, gone loose. It is seeking to gather more unto oneself.

Covetousness has been called the sin that no one commits. One confessor declared that in fifty years of hearing the confessions of people, no one had ever confessed to committing this sin.

A minister declared that in decades of leading prayer meetings where many sins were confessed, this sin was never heard on anyone’s lips.

The lust for more and more is ever present, and we must constantly guard against it. When you find yourself lusting after things that God has not given you, confess it as a sin, and at the same time, bring your earnest needs and supplications before Him.

How can we guard our hearts today against covetousness?

Perhaps the best way to do this is to keep Christ alive in our hearts and to allow HIM to reign over our thoughts and desires.

The Story Behind "It Is Well With My Soul"

Horatio Spafford (1828-1888) was a wealthy Chicago lawyer with a thriving legal practice, a beautiful home, a wife, four daughters and a son. He was also a devout Christian and faithful student of the Scriptures. His circle of friends included Dwight L. Moody, Ira Sankey and various other well-known Christians of the day
.
At the very height of his financial and professional success, Horatio and his wife Anna suffered the tragic loss of their young son. Shortly thereafter on October 8, 1871, the Great Chicago Fire destroyed almost every real estate investment that Spafford had.

In 1873, Spafford scheduled a boat trip to Europe in order to give his wife and daughters a much needed vacation and time to recover from the tragedy. He also went to join Moody and Sankey on an evangelistic campaign in England. Spafford sent his wife and daughters ahead of him while he remained in Chicago to take care of some unexpected last minute business. Several days later he received notice that his family's ship had encountered a collision. All four of his daughters drowned; only his wife had survived.

With a heavy heart, Spafford boarded a boat that would take him to his grieving Anna in England. It was on this trip that he penned those now famous words, When sorrow like sea billows roll; it is well, it is well with my soul.

Philip Bliss (1838-1876), composer of many songs including Hold the Fort, Let the Lower Lights be Burning, and Jesus Loves Even Me, was so impressed with Spafford's life and the words of his hymn that he composed a beautiful piece of music to accompany the lyrics. The song was published by Bliss and Sankey, in 1876.

For more than a century, the tragic story of one man has given hope to countless thousands who have lifted their voices to sing, It Is Well With My Soul.

The Word Became Flesh

The finite mind of man cannot begin to fathom the infinite wonder of the WORD becoming flesh and dwelling among us, but that is exactly what happened when JESUS left the realm of glory to walk with HIS people in order to show them what GOD is like.

Thank YOU, LORD, for revealing the wonder of the ETERNAL ONE WHO DWELLS IN GLORY by condescending to become a humble Man who dwelt in flesh upon the earth.

Good Morning!

Lord JESUS, we turn our problems and concerns and anxieties over to YOU today. We do this because YOUR WORD invites us to "Cast all our cares on JESUS, for HE cares for us." I Peter 5:7

We stand on YOUR WORD because it cannot fail and it cannot lie. We know that "You are able to do exceeding, abundantly above all we can ask or think, according to YOUR power at work within us," Ephesians 3:20.

We invite YOUR power to work! We believe Romans 8:11 that says,"The same power that raised JESUS from the dead dwells in you." We as believers have that glorious resurrection power within us! As YOU glorified YOURSELF on Easter morning, we ask YOU to glorify YOURSELF again within us this morning!

We give today and all our tomorrows to YOU, JESUS, and we expect that YOU will handle all that we face without any intrusion from us. Help us to do exactly as YOU tell us to do to allow YOU full control, and to relax in the assurance that each of our days will be great as we leave them in YOUR hands.

Deliver Your People!

We weep because of man's inhumanity to man. We anguish because of the vitriolic hatred that is unleashed against Christians in so many parts of the world. We cry out to God for His mercy, His protection and His guidance to surround His people.

Wherever they are, whatever they are doing, no matter the force of evil that surrounds them, may those who call upon the name of JESUS be shielded from the onslaught of the enemy.

We know the Word of God is true and it says, "Greater is HE who is in you than he who is in the world." Because YOU are greater, dear LORD, we believe and are sure that YOUR mighty hand can stay the attack of the enemy, that YOU can bring to nothing his efforts to destroy YOUR people.

We stand on YOUR WORD, that cannot fail and cannot lie. We claim all the promises of the BIBLE that assure us of hope in hopeless situations, of truth when surrounded by lies, of deliverance when attacked by a mighty foe, of eternal life when death assails.

We know the angels of Heaven rejoice when one of YOUR own slips into eternity. We know that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. We glorify YOU in all circumstances, even unto death, but we ask YOU to glorify YOURSELF in the eyes of unbelievers by delivering YOUR people from the vile machinations of the enemy in the land of the living.

Unexplainable Power

"I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony." - John 3:11

When is the last time God did something in your life that can only be explained as God? Was it yesterday? Was it just last week? A month ago? A year ago?

The answer to this question may mean several things. If it has been some time since you saw God's activity in such a way that you know it was His hand, you may not be trusting Him to a level that requires faith. You may not be risking enough for God to show Himself.

The converts in the early Church changed the world they lived in because of what they saw and heard. It was the power of the gospel that changed lives, not what they learned from mere teaching. This power drew people to Christ. Things happened that could not be explained as anything other than the activity of God.

Is that the kind of faith you are experiencing in your life? Many of us live a wholesome, moral life, but those we associate with do not see this activity as anything that cannot also be achieved by themselves. That is why many are not drawn to our lives. God's power is not evident.

The Lord has been challenging me to trust Him at levels I have never trusted before. This level of trust has placed me in a vulnerable position. However, the blessing of this relationship is that I see the activity of God as never before, and those close to me see it as well.

It builds my faith—and their faith—and draws others to investigate.

Sometimes the activity of God comes in unusual ways. God often sets up scenes that appear to be negative on the front end, but God has orchestrated these events for His glory.

-Without Pharaoh's pursuit of Israel at the Red Sea, there is no miraculous deliverance.

-Without Goliath, there is no underdog story.

-Without Lazarus's death, there is no rising to life.

-Without Peter stepping out of the boat, there is no miracle on the water.

-Without Judas' betrayal, there is no resurrection.

God wants to show Himself in ways you and I cannot imagine. Invite God to demonstrate His power in your life today. Then, you will see all men drawn to Jesus because they will hunger for His presence in their lives to be manifest as it is in yours

When the newly-elected Abraham Lincoln took his train south to Washington, D.C., in 1861, he had to pass through the pro-slavery city of Baltimore, Maryland, where there were known to be plots for his assassination.

Maryland had cast a mere 2000 votes for Lincoln in the election, against 42,000 for his pro-slavery opponent. Lincoln had to assume the disguise of a sick man, abandoning his stovepipe hat for a slouch hat and shawl:

"Washington's location would place it at the center of the [American Civil] war; its geog­raphy, as the country had learned in 1814, made it vulnerable to attack. And what a prize it would be for the Confederates to capture the capi­tal of the United States.

From the start Lincoln understood the tenuous position of the city, surrounded as it was by two slaveholding states. Virginia had seceded in April. That state had 491,000 slaves -- more than any other; the port of Alexandria continued to thrive on human trafficking.

Marylanders, including the state's governor, owned 87,000 slaves. In the presidential election of 1860 they had cast more than 42,000 ballots for the south­ern, proslavery Democrat John C. Breckinridge; they cast barely 2,000 for Abraham Lincoln.

"That February, Lincoln had even encountered difficulty entering Washington for his inauguration. He had boarded a railroad car in Springfield, Illinois, for a serpentine progress that took him past large and enthusiastic crowds in big cities -- Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Pitts­burgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany -- as well as small villages, mere dots on the landscape -- Tolono, Illinois; Thorn­ton, Indiana; Willoughby, Ohio; and Westfield, New York.

"When Lincoln and his entourage arrived in Philadelphia, however, telegraph wires from the South were humming with ominous reports that secessionist gangs in Baltimore were plotting his murder. As the tracks from the North did not connect directly with those to the South, railroad cars had to be disconnected from their engine at one depot and pulled by horses through Baltimore's streets to the next.

Lincoln's friend and self-appointed bodyguard Ward Hill Lamon determined that the danger was too great for him to publish the time of his trip through the city. Disguised as a physician attending a sick man, Lamon boarded the 10:50 evening train at Philadelphia with Lincoln wearing a slouch hat and a shawl about his shoulders. As dawn broke on the morning of Saturday, February 23, 1861, the president-elect stepped onto the platform at Wash­ington's B&O station at Sixth Street and New Jersey Avenue."

Charles Krauthammer on Hillary Clinton

Recently, Charles Krauthammer alluded that he had no doubt some of the 30k emails Hillary deleted from her private e-mail server very likely had references to the Clinton Foundation, which would be illegal and a conflict of interest.

The Clinton Foundation is "organized crime" at its finest.

Here is a good, concise summary of how the Clinton Foundation works as a tax free international money laundering scheme. It may eventually prove to be the largest political criminal enterprise in U.S. history. This is a textbook case on how you hide foreign money sent to you and repackage it to be used for your own purposes. All tax free.

Here's how it works:

1. You create a separate foreign "charity." In this case, the Clinton's set it up in Canada.

2.  Foreign oligarchs and governments, then donate to this Canadian charity. In this case, over 1,000 did -- contributing mega millions. I'm sure they did this out of the goodness of their hearts, and expected nothing in return. 

3. The Canadian charity then bundles these separate donations and makes a massive donation to the Clinton Foundation.

4. The Clinton Foundation and the cooperating Canadian charity claim Canadian law prohibits the identification of individual donors.

5. The Clinton Foundation then "spends" some of this money for legitimate good works programs. Unfortunately, experts believe this is on the order of 10%. Much of the balance goes to enrich the Clintons, pay salaries to untold numbers of hangers on, and fund lavish travel, etc.  Again, all tax free, which means you and I are subsidizing it.

6. The Clinton Foundation, with access to the world's best accountants, somehow fails to report much of this on their tax filings. They discover these "clerical errors" and begin the process of re-filing five years of tax returns.

7. Net result -- foreign money goes into the Clinton's pockets tax free and untraceable back to the original donor. This is the textbook definition of money laundering.

Oh, by the way, the Canadian "charity" includes as a principal one Frank Giustra. Google him. He is the guy who was central to the formation of Uranium One, the Canadian company that somehow acquired massive U.S. uranium interests and then sold them to an organization controlled by Russia. This transaction required U.S. State Department approval, and guess who was Secretary of State when the approval was granted.

As an aside, imagine how former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell feels. That poor schlep is in jail because he and his wife took $165,000 in gifts and loans for doing minor favors for a guy promoting a vitamin company. Not legal but not exactly putting U.S. security at risk.

Sarcasm aside, if you're still not persuaded this was a cleverly structured way to get unidentified foreign money to the Clintons, ask yourself this:

Why did these foreign interests funnel money through a Canadian charity? Why not donate directly to the Clinton Foundation?  Better yet, why not donate money directly to the people, organizations and countries in need?

This is the essence of money laundering and influence peddling.

Now you know why Hillary's destruction of 30,000 e-mails was a risk she was willing to take.

Bill and Hillary are devious, unprincipled, dishonest and criminal, and they are Slick!

Warning: They could be back in the White House in January 2017.

Don't let it happen. Remember, most people are not well informed. You must inform and educate them.
