In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, "Father, if it be Your will, let this cup pass from Me; but never-the-less, let Your will be done." Matthew 26:39, Luke 22:42
"And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many." Matthew 27:51-53
Have you ever prayed that God would deliver you out of a trying
situation, that somehow, some way, He would intervene into your
circumstances and your situation would be miraculously transformed?
Jesus's circumstances weren't miraculously transformed either. He went from the Garden, to the court of Pilate, to the cross.
It appeared that darkness had overcome light, that hatred had overcome love, that death had overcome life.
The storm came. The veil of the Temple was rent from top to bottom, saints emerged from their graves, fearless soldiers ran terrified from the scene.
When the problems of your life do not respond to your prayers, when you are required to stay the course until its conclusion rather than be delivered, remember the HOLY ONE who went to Calvary's Cross, remember that JESUS wasn't delivered either...at least not on Friday.
But there was a glorious Sunday morning coming! There will be one for you, too.

Father let your will be done; if it's our lot that our cup be poured out, let us do it for your glory!
