Today Is GOOd FRIDAY.

Today is Good Friday.

On that ignominious day long ago, the Lord of Life, the One who spoke and the worlds began, hung on a cruel cross from 9 AM until 3 PM with the weight of the sins of the world--the sins of every person who had ever lived, who was alive at the time, or who would live in the future--upon His sinless person.

JESUS was the propitiation for our sins.

The One who said, "Let us make man in our own image," the One who fashioned a body from the dust of the earth and breathed His own breath of life into it, created a man with whom HE desired fellowship, from whom He desired love, to whom HE gave an unfathomable love that the world cannot contemplate, hung on a cruel Roman instrument of torture at the hand of man, the very man He loved.

It had to be, for the one thing that could wreak havoc upon the love He freely gave to man, sin, had done its awful work. The chasm our transgressions created between God and man was too wide to cross; so JESUS came to build a bridge.

The cross is that bridge. JESUS suffered and died so we may regain the fellowship that we lost. JESUS suffered and died so we may be one, as HE and the FATHER are ONE.

His Holy Spirit may be stirring within you today, compelling you to come to the cross and be cleansed by the font you'll find there. Let HIM wash you clean and make you new.

The newness of life from Calvary's flow is the only thing that makes Good Friday good.
