A wise man once told me to never pick a fight with a man who buys his ink by the barrel, yet this is exactly what President Donald Trump has done, or has he?

In reality, it was the press that picked a fight with the American people and Trump is standard-bearer for those who have been lied to and attempted to be brainwashed by a decided socialist news media against all things American.

From the news media's viewpoint, unless it's socially just, it's wrong, and all things are socially unjust, especially if they have anything to do with common sense and traditional values. Think of the foul-mouthed, bombastic approach that has been taken. Yet,

Trump is being blamed openly by the media for what they call self-inflicted wounds.

At CPAC, Trump explained: "A few days ago I called the fake news the enemy of the people. And they are. They are the enemy of the people. Because they have no sources, they just make 'em up when there are none.

"I saw one story recently where they said, 'Nine people have confirmed.' There are no nine people. I don't believe there were one or two people...I know who they talk to.

"There were no nine people... They make up sources. They're very dishonest people. In fact, in covering my comments, the dishonest media did not explain that I called the fake news the enemy of the people. The fake news. They dropped off the word "fake." And all of a sudden, the story became the media is the enemy."

 

During the very early days of the Reagan Administration, I was a Washington, DC correspondent for a major news wire. I shared office space with many other news entities.

Often at the end of the day, the correspondents would sit around the office having a drink and talk about their news stories, essentially comparing notes. I learned from listening to those discussions that unnamed sources were sometimes, if not often, the journalists themselves speculating on various news events.

One time, I spoke up about a story they knew I was working on exclusively. I purposely misled them. The next day, it showed up on the front page of the Washington Post, quoting me as a "source close to the story." Of course, it was totally wrong information and these old salts were quite surprised when my story broke with the real news.

 

Fake news is not new to this generation. It is a staple of lazy reporters with agendas. They have been doing it for generations. The problem we have today is that reporters have been trained to believe that their leftist beliefs are the truth and all things must be measured against their particular truth.

We therefore have a media that just writes stories from the lens of socialism. It's generally fake news. Most of what you read and see is twisted.

When a free press is dedicated to an agenda, it is part of the problem, not the solution.

Trump is right to try to hold accountability. We as citizens must also hold accountability.

How?

Measure it against the Holy Scriptures. In John 17:17, Jesus prayed the Father to "Sanctify them through thy word; thy word is truth." Find the baseline of events in the word and discern truth properly. It will set you free.

Get off the Pews and on Our Knees!

We the Church must not get a sense of false security at this time! We seem to have relaxed, got off our knees and settled back in the pew. Back to the altar is more urgent now than ever!!!

Watson and Crick Discover Chemical Structure of DNA

On this day in 1953, Cambridge University scientists James D. Watson and Frances H.C. Crick announced that they had determined the double-helix structure of DNA, the molecule containing human genes.

Though DNA–short for deoxyribonucleic acid–was discovered in 1869, its crucial role in determining genetic inheritance wasn’t demonstrated until 1943.

In the early 1950s, Watson and Crick were only two of many scientists working on figuring out the structure of DNA. California chemist Linus Pauling suggested an incorrect model at the beginning of 1953, prompting Watson and Crick to try and beat Pauling at his own game.

On the morning of February 28, they determined that the structure of DNA was a double-helix polymer, or a spiral of two DNA strands, each containing a long chain of monomer nucleotides, wound around each other.

According to their findings, DNA replicated itself by separating into individual strands, each of which became the template for a new double helix. In his best-selling book, The Double Helix (1968), Watson later claimed that Crick announced the discovery by walking into the nearby Eagle Pub and blurting out that “we had found the secret of life.”

The truth wasn’t that far off, as Watson and Crick had solved a fundamental mystery of science–how it was possible for genetic instructions to be held inside organisms and passed from generation to generation.

Watson and Crick’s solution was formally announced on April 25, 1953, following its publication in that month’s issue of Nature magazine. The article revolutionized the study of biology and medicine.

Among the developments that followed directly from it were pre-natal screening for disease genes; genetically engineered foods; the ability to identify human remains; the rational design of treatments for diseases such as AIDS; and the accurate testing of physical evidence in order to convict or exonerate accused criminals.

Crick and Watson later had a falling-out over Watson’s book, which Crick felt misrepresented their collaboration and betrayed their friendship. A larger controversy arose over the use Watson and Crick made of research done by another DNA researcher, Rosalind Franklin, whose colleague Maurice Wilkins showed her X-ray photographic work to Watson just before he and Crick made their famous discovery.

When Crick and Watson won the Nobel Prize in 1962, they shared it with Wilkins. Franklin, who died in 1958 of ovarian cancer and was thus ineligible for the award, never learned of the role her photos played in the historic scientific breakthrough.

As we pray for the restoration of our country, we pray that You would make America a light to the world and a blessing to all the nations.

Father in heaven, help us to restore a sense of national dignity. Teach us to be a virtuous people, worthy of respect. Allow the world to see Your truth and grace displayed in our citizenry. Make us ever mindful to treat others as we would want to be treated.

Please give Your perspective on this world and Your wisdom to all those who represent America in official dealings with other nations. Convict, forgive and correct the failures of our leaders to seek Your guidance as they interact with the nations of Your world. Give them humility, insight, discernment, and strength.

We pray that America would take the lead in ending greed and corruption around Your world.

As our citizens travel abroad, Lord, we ask You to quicken us to represent our nation honorably and with humility.

Father, we pray for Your intervention in righting the distorted image of America that is exported through media and entertainment.

We especially ask You to lead us in our attitude and dealings with the nation of Israel. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Lead and convict those who set foreign policy. Give them a full understanding of Your Scriptural mandate to bless Israel.

We would ask, Lord, for favor from other nations who have benefited from the sacrifice of American blood and treasure.

The BIBLE tells us to "pray without ceasing." That essentially means GOD is telling HIS people that when they pray, they must not give up.

HE says the person who comes to HIM must "believe that HE IS and that HE is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM." HE says the half- hearted prayer is not one that moves HIM to action.

GOD doesn't view prayer as HIS opportunity to convince you that HE hears you and wants to bestow your request upon you...

...Rather, GOD views prayer as your opportunity to demonstrate to HIM that you believe HE is worthy of your faith and that you are confident in HIS perfect timing.

A Muslim-American national security staffer resigned after eight days working in the Trump administration, complaining that it was an “insult” to work under the U.S. President. Rumana Ahmed quit to much fanfare (of course).

For all her complaining, Rumana Ahmed was not fired or let go when President Trump took office. On the contrary, the devout Muslim kept her position. which says more about President Trump than it does about her.

Rumana Ahmed wasn’t abused, harassed, insulted or anything of the kind. No, Ahmed quit when the President issued a ban on travelers from seven terror-riddled countries. She said could no longer stay and “work for an administration that saw me and people like me not as fellow citizens, but as a threat.” Why? Her country of origin, Bangladesh, was not on the restricted list. If Ahmed is unconcerned with our national security, why should she work as a national security staffer?

Rumana Ahmed was hired to a job at the White House straight out of college under President Obama. What were her qualifications for so critical a position?

Her resignation is huge news in the enemedia. They eat this propaganda up. I look forward to the day when not all news reports concerning Muslims is either jihad-terror or whining about “islamophobia.”

A Muslim-American national security staffer resigned after eight days working in the Trump administration, saying that it was ‘an insult’ to work under the current president.

Rumana Ahmed is a Muslim and an American citizen whose family moved to Maryland from Bangladesh.

She was hired to a job at the White House straight out of college while Obama was president.

When Trump was elected, she decided to stay on at the National Security Council, but after eight days realized that she could not continue to work there.

Ahmed, who penned an editorial piece about her experience in the Atlantic, said that as a Muslim woman, when the President issued a ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries and all Syrian refugees, she knew she could no longer stay and ‘work for an administration that saw me and people like me not as fellow citizens, but as a threat’.

After he took office, Ahmed describes that she quickly became uncomfortable going to work.

‘I got both of those looks of “oh my God, like, are you OK, you know, is this, you know, I’m surprised you’re still here”‘ Ahmed Said in an interview with CBS.

‘But then you had others who were just very cold and just kind of ignored the fact that I was even there’.

She explained that she hoped to change minds of those new people she would be working with in Washington, though she was offended by the President’s rhetoric while he was campaigning.

However, on changing minds in Trump’s White House, she said: ‘There was no opportunity to interact with anybody.’

Ahmed also said that she believes she and other staffers were often cut out of the policy-making process in the early days, finding out about things as they happened on the news instead of as they happened in the office.

In her piece for the Atlantic, she describes the day that she decided to quit.

She said: ‘The evening before I left, bidding farewell to some of my colleagues, many of whom have also since left, I notified Trump’s senior NSC communications adviser, Michael Anton, of my departure, since we shared an office.’

It later came out that Michael Anton authored an essay under a pseudonym in which he praises authoritarianism and attacks diversity as a ‘weakness’, and Islam as ‘incompatible with the modern West,’ so it comes as no surprise that he did not ask her why she was leaving.

However, as she describes, she told him anyway.

‘I told him I had to leave because it was an insult walking into this country’s most historic building every day under an administration that is working against and vilifying everything I stand for as an American and as a Muslim,’ she wrote.

‘I told him that the administration was attacking the basic tenets of democracy.

‘I told him that I hoped that they and those in Congress were prepared to take responsibility for all the consequences that would attend their decisions,’ Ahmed continued.

She said that he looked at her but said nothing.

Ahmed’s parents moved to the United States from Bangladesh in 1978. Her mother worked as a cashier before starting a daycare business, and her father worked at Bank of America, eventually being promoted to Assistant Vice President at one of the headquarters.

Speaking with CBS, she said that 'walking into that building was becoming more and more difficult every single day because everything that administration was doing stood against what I stood for as both an American and as a Muslim'

She said that she was 12 when she started wearing a hijab, and that it was encouraged, but also her choice.

Ahmed wrote that while she never saw herself going into Government, she was inspired by President Obama.

White House officials have not said much about Ahmed’s comments, except that they wish her well.

 

 

Governors Ball

Recently, our President and First Lady hosted the annual Governors Ball. Trump welcomed 46 governors and their spouses to the first major social event of his administration.

Every president who hosts this event gives the usual thank you speech, but Donald Trump is NOT like every president. He started out by expressing how much he is enjoying his job as president.

‘‘I can say that after four weeks — it’s been a lot of fun — but we’ve accomplished almost everything we’ve started out to accomplish. We’re very happy with the way things are working but, again, we’ve made a lot of promises over the last two years and many of those promises already are kept so we’re very honored by that.’

But then Trump made a move that surprised everyone.

Instead of just closing his speech like every president before him has done, President Trump shocked the crowd and invited someone from the OPPOSING PARTY to come join him!

Trump reached out to DEMOCRAT Governor Terry McAuliffe and asked him to give a toast!

Trump showed the nation tonight that he isn’t just blowing smoke when he says that he wants to unite us! The President doesn’t care about petty politics, he just wants to make this country as great as he knows it can be.

Now Democrats have no excuse! President Trump has reached across the aisle in a sincere attempt to heal this nation. They can’t say that he refuses to work together or that he is a dictator any longer.

They actually have to do their jobs and stop with the partisan grandstanding.

God-Inspired Delays

“Yet when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was two more days.” John 11:6

Delays in life are not always easy to handle or to reconcile in our minds. Often, when God does not answer our prayers in the time that we feel He should, we appoint all sorts of characteristics to God's nature that imply He does not care.

Such was the case with Lazarus' sisters when Lazarus became ill and died. Jesus was a close friend to Lazarus and his two sisters, Mary and Martha. (Mary, you may recall, was the woman who came and poured perfume on Jesus' feet.)

When Jesus arrived two days later, Martha shamed Him by saying, "If You had come he would not have died." She implied that He didn't care enough to come when sent for. It was a matter of priorities for Jesus, not lack of love.

God often has to delay His work in us in order to accomplish something for His purposes that can be achieved only in the delay. Jesus had to let Lazarus die in order for the miracle that was about to take place to have its full effect.

If Jesus had simply healed a sick man, the impact of the miracle would not have been as newsworthy as resurrecting a man who had been dead for four days. This is Jesus' greatest "public relations act" of His whole ministry. What many do not realize is that the key to the whole story is in the next chapter.

Many people, because they had heard that He had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet Him. So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after Him!" (John 12:18-19)

If Jesus had not raised Lazarus from the dead, there would have been no crowds to cheer the Lord when He came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey.

God often sets the stage so that His glory is revealed through the events that He orchestrates. He did this with Moses and Pharaoh, allowing delay after delay for release of the Israelites from Egypt. He did this with Abraham and Sarah for the promised child, Isaac. God granted Sarah a baby past the age of childbearing in order to demonstrate His power.

God did this in my own life. He delayed the fulfillment of what I believed He called me to do for several years. But the delays provided the necessary preparation and greater glory that God was to receive.

My friend, don't take the delays lightly. Do not faint as God places you in what seems to be a holding pattern. God is at work. God knows the purposes for His delays. Don't give up, for they are for His greater glory.

We just need to remain faithful.

 

 

The Oscars

I have to admit it. I didn't watch the Oscars. I haven't watched the Oscars since I was a kid, curious about all the pandering. I read about them. Each year, these people who make millions from folks going to their movies tend to want to tell us why how we live is wrong, that God and country are not important, that there is no God (unless it's the occult or money, or political religion), their god is the government.

They tell everyone what they think is American and un-American as if they are the be all, end all source. In reality, what the House Committee on Un-American Activities investigated beginning in 1938-anti-American communism-would have no problem identifying those who were alleged to be disloyal and subversive today. The committee would just have to watch Oscar night in Hollywood.

Cloaked in esoteric ideals such as social justice, equality, love and peace for all, these people spread their hatred by maligning anyone who disagrees with them. They are the gods of America, after all. They make the most money using the least brainpower, so they must be smarter than anybody else. This has not changed since the communists were infiltrating the film industry in the last century.

The only thing that has changed is that they are more open about talking about it. Yes, they call themselves social democrats or progressives, but just like their day to day lives, they are play acting. A social democrat or a progressive is still a communist at heart. And that's where the rub is. Americans have become so dumbed down about history and politics that they don't understand the threat of communism still exists.

These people are described perfectly in 2 Timothy 3:1-7," This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, loves of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

It's scary how bold and deceived these people are. It's also scary that they are able to come into our households and spew forth their wickedness in the innocent name of entertainment. Some of the deceived even go to the theaters and pay good money to watch them.

I guess I'm pretty boring. I haven't been to a movie in a long time. And I'm pretty careful what I watch on TV or satellite. These people stand for the very darkness of the world and I see very little good in them. If we all would just quit watching them, quit going to their movies, perhaps their decline would be accelerated.

The great thing about electricity is that we can turn it off when things get Oscary.

We should be exercising that off switch more often.
