Belief in the WORD

Belief in the WORD of GOD is a wonderful commodity to possess, but it is not always easy to avail oneself of the advantages of that belief. As expressed to JESUS here in this verse in the Gospel of Mark, one must sometimes say, "LORD, I believe...help THOU mine unbelief.

The WORD, that cannot fail and cannot lie says, "By HIS stripes, I am healed."

The WORD, that is true eternally says, "Greater things than I have done will you do because I go to the FATHER."

The WORD, that never changes says, "Cast all your care upon JESUS, for HE cares for you."

The WORD, immutable and transforming says, "To you who fear MY name will the Son of Righteousness arise with healing in HIS wings."

The WORD, that is the same forever says, "The same power that raised JESUS from the dead lives in you."

Why is it that so often people of faith do not see the veracity of the scriptures that they profess to believe?

One possibility may be the fact that the very WORD that we say we accept and trust tells us that we must "walk by faith, not by sight."

If every prayer were answered the first time one bowed a knee before the HOLY ONE, what would be the need of or purpose for faith? The very fact that answers to prayer are not always dispatched from Heaven upon the first cry of a longing heart affirms the reality that GOD, who has all power and all authority over all things, sometimes wants HIS people to exercise the faith they profess to possess.
Why?

Certainly, the answers to that little question are limitless, but one possibility may be that the ETERNAL GOD WHO IS OUR REFUGE AND OUR STRENGTH desires our faith to expand.

HE wants our faith to grow into mustard seed faith--the kind of faith that can bring forth life to the dead, that can inspire belief in the faithless, that can ignite hope in the hopeless, that can topple mountains.
