He Calms the Storm by CCT, missionary
You truly learn what Jesus is really like in the storms of life. You see that he’s not a mere man. He’s not just a nice teacher. He’s not only an ethical leader. He is God, the Creator of the universe.
In Mark 4, the disciples were distraught because of the storm that pounded their boat. They couldn't see past their immediate need, their current circumstance. And Jesus slept. He was at complete peace because He knows His authority; He knows He controls the winds and the waves.
Even so, He spoke to the needs of the disciples. First, He calmed the storm that raged around them. Then He calmed the storm that waged within them. As long as they focused on the storm, fear would dictate their belief and their reactions. But if they focused on Jesus and believed He is good, their hearts would be strengthened so they could endure the storm.
A storm rages around us; it's dark and scary and we don't know what will happen. A storm wages within us as we continue to fight for the need that engulfs us, as we continue to fight for our faith.
Praying for the peace of Jesus to calm the storm outside and the storm inside.
He can.
He has before.
He will again.
