Power Outage

Power Outage

We had a brief thunderstorm yesterday, accompanied by a power outage that was predicted to last until 11 PM, but electricity was restored by 6 PM. We were thankful for that and thought the ordeal was over, but something unexpected occurred.

Whether as an aftermath of the storm or as a separate event entirely, our well pump stopped working. We have been without running water since last evening.

Thankfully, our foresight finds us with a rather large supply of bottles of water that have been saved in old juice jars as well as with bottled drinking water that we always have on hand.

A local plumber has us on his list and we should be helped today or tomorrow.

In the scheme of things --compared, for example to what the residents of Houston are dealing with-- this is a small inconvenience, yet we are very eager to return to normal.

This is a reminder that in the spirit realm, there will be storms to face.

When they come, we do not want to be disconnected from our POWER SOURCE. We need JESUS in the times of trial as much or perhaps more than we need HIM in the good times.

And JESUS is our "LIVING WATER." We perish apart from HIM. May we ever be mindful of "HIS EVER-PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF TROUBLE," and may we be quick to give HIM the glory when HE carries us over the deep waters of our trials.
