THE BIBLE
"I am the resurrection and the life. Any man who believes in ME, thought he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever lives and believes in ME shall never die." John 11:25
Quotes of Presidents
"I should have been glad, had it pleased God, to die a little easier, but I doubt not that it is for my good...Father of Mercies, take me to Thyself." George Washington
Wise Words
(While attending a dinner of foreign dignitaries at Versailles, France, the minister of Great Britain proposed a toast to King George III, likening him to the sun. The French minister, in like kind, proposed a toast to King Louis XVI, comparing him with the moon. Benjamin Franklin stood up and toasted:)
"George Washington, Commander of the American armies, who, like Joshua of old, commanded the sun and the moon to stand still, and they obeyed him." Benjamin Franklin
Interesting Fact about Washington:
Washington set the bold example of providing in his Will to free all of his slaves--the only slave-holding founding father to do so--even stipulating that sick and elderly slaves would be supported by his estate in perpetuity.
