Do Young People Lack Initiative?
It's not a recent phenomenon for the more mature among us to look upon our youth with dismay because today's young people are not like we were when we were their age.
Oh, you remember; don't act like you don't!
Yes, the world they've been born into is vastly different than the one in which we found ourselves, but the aspirations within them are much more like ours than we might recognize.
Can we-more-seasoned-occupants-of-the-planet be a bit more sensitive to the youth of today?
Can we be more encouraging and less critical?
Can we be more understanding and less confrontational?
Can we be more aware of the challenges they face and less preoccupied with the world the way it was when we were young?
Can we be more interested in living our faith and evidencing our love into their lives instead of bombarding them with reminders of how we did things when we were their age?
Can we allow the LORD to use us to witness to them of HIS SALVATION -- of their need for JESUS as their SAVIOR -- rather than to lament their disinterest in the faith of our fathers?
