There's a commercial on TV where a man says, "I'm just an ordinary guy; do I really need life insurance?"
Of course the commercial goes on to say that he does, and so do you.
Some believers are like the man in the commercial. They think they are insignificant and don't need to be concerned about a devil who would bother with them, but the reality is that Ephesians 6:11 is addressed to everyone.
The admonition to put on the whole armor of God is directed at everybody because the evil one does not discriminate in his attempts to lure men to destruction. Indeed, he's not after only the affluent; he's not stalking only the well-educated; he isn't intent upon devouring only those who strive to serve Jesus; the devil wants to destroy all mankind.
Putting on the whole armor of God is advice that should be taken to heart by all who live and breathe because everyone God loves is a target of the destroyer, and the Holy One loves all of us.
Follow the counsel of the Lord who loves you. Take His full armor upon you as your protection against the wiles of the enemy of your soul. Don't allow yourself to be vulnerable to any of the weapons he uses against you. The price of opening yourself to his slings and arrows is quite high. The defense against them is free.
