Biden Stumbling
The New York Times tried to excuse Biden's recent stumbling as he boarded Air Force One by blaming it on his recent foot fracture in an article headlined “Biden is ‘doing 100 percent fine’ after tripping while boarding AF I” Despite advancing that theory, the story does point out that nobody in the White House would confirm it.
In contrast, Trump once had to walk slowly down a ramp at an event in June 2020 causing The New York Times to splash the headline, “Trump’s Halting Walk Down Ramp Raises New Health Questions.” However, during the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election, Trump was crisscrossing the U.S. while Biden mostly hid in his basement.
Since the campaign, many have speculated about Biden’s health and mental fitness. The 78-year-old has recently forgotten names, incorrectly referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “President Harris,” and still has yet to give a formal press conference two months into his term. That isn’t making anyone feel better about those rumors.
Normally, a politician tripping or falling without getting hurt is a fun diversion, but this is just sad to watch. There are many indications he’s not doing well, and these incidents are increasingly evoking sympathy rather than amusement, even among those who oppose his policies.
