POWER

POWER

While living overseas in a country that allowed only one religion, the practice of CHRISTIANITY was done in secret. We were blessed to be part of a fellowship group that was hosted weekly by a very courageous man and his wife. The entire time of our worship there, we were safe from scrutiny by the religious police. The LORD had placed HIS hedge around this couple and their family and our group was never challenged.
During a brief time when our host family was on vacation, our group was invited to meet at the home of a British doctor who was part of our fellowship. His apartment was on the second floor of an apartment building and was equipped with the musical instruments, hymnals and BIBLES that were part of worship.
While engaging in our weekly meeting, some religious police entered the building. We heard them arrive and began to pray for the safety of our group. A couple of our men went out to speak to the unexpected visitors and to their astonishment, found their leader instructing all of them to back down the stairs!
"SOMETHING" prevented them from climbing the stairs and intruding upon our group. Had they continued, we would have been arrested and kept incarcerated indefinitely or some of us would have been immediately sent out of the country. Those of us who were American were under a "government-to-government agreement" that stipulated our expulsion from the country if we were arrested for breaking their laws, rather than being held under their legal system.
Needless to say, after this incident, our evening service became a prayer meeting! We had much for which to be thankful. We praised our MIGHTY SAVIOR for sparing us the ordeal we would have gone through if the religious police had not been prevented by the HOLY SPIRIT from raiding our group.
Thanks be unto our HOLY GOD for protecting HIS own.
In your time of trouble, turn to HIM. HE will "never fail you nor forsake you."
In your good times, turn to HIM, for HE will "never fail you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
