LORD GOD in HEAVEN, YOU look down upon this earth YOU have made with a broken heart when YOU see YOUR children, people YOU have made in YOUR image, contending with one another, lashing out at one another, hating one another, killing one another because of something as superficial as the color of their skin.
We who love YOU and who name the NAME THAT IS ABOVE ALL NAMES --JESUS-- as our SAVIOR and LORD, come before YOU asking that YOU send YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to move among the people of this land, to ignite revival fire within the hearts of believers in CHRIST and in unbelievers who will come to HIM.
We ask for a THIRD GREAT AWAKENING that will bring us back to the foot
of the cross. We ask for a move of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that will stir up
YOUR LOVE within our hearts--love for YOU, love for the SAVIOR who came
to us, and love for our brothers and love for the lost.
Let us be prayer warriors who will not be silent until the LIVING WATER that is JESUS washes over this land, bringing us to YOU, that we will again be, as Alex de Tocqueville said, "...a nation with the soul of a church."
We ask that we will look at all YOUR people as YOU see them, as beautiful flowers in YOUR garden of humanity--different colors but part of YOUR glorious bouquet--each reflecting the variety of YOUR imagination and YOUR handiwork.
YOUR WORD asks, "How can a man love GOD who he cannot see yet fail to love men who he can see?"
Let us not delude ourselves into thinking there is any place in us for hatred or prejudice.
Help us, LORD GOD our SAVIOR, to love as YOU love. As YOU stretched out YOUR arms and died on a cruel cross for all men, let us stretch out our arms and embrace all men to our heart with YOUR love.
In YOUR mighty, matchless, loving name we pray, JESUS. Amen.
