Do guns kill?
Statistically, more people die in this country because of crazed killers wielding knives than because of crazed killers wielding guns.
Do knives kill? Should all knives be banned?
Or does fear kill --police officers who are afraid for their lives
because black men who are afraid for their lives carry weapons and are
intimidated by the threat of white cops?
Or does hatred kill --hatred, that absence of GOD'S love within a human heart that allows a person to look upon his brother with animus because his skin is a different color?
The answer to our 'gun problem' is not the removal of guns from law-abiding citizens but the replacement of fear and hatred within us with the LOVE OF GOD.
The BIBLE says, "PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR."
The only perfect love is the love of JESUS. When HE fills your heart, there will be no room there for fear of your brother--even if he doesn't look like you. When HE fills your heart, there will be no place in you for hatred, for love and hatred cannot occupy the same space.
LORD JESUS, we ask YOU to revive us! We ask YOU to ignite a flame of love for YOU within each citizen of this land so all of us will bow before YOU with grateful hearts, so we will see others as YOU see and we will love others as YOU love.
Glorify YOURSELF in a THIRD GREAT AWAKENING in this land that was placed at YOUR FEET AT ITS INCEPTION. RAISE US UP AS A GODLY, CHRISTIAN NATION AGAIN, JESUS. In YOUR MIGHTY, MATCHLESS NAME WE PRAY, DEAR LORD. AMEN.
