If you are among the very few who don't know who Dr. Ben Carson is, may I fill you in...
Dr. Carson was raised by a single mom (his father deserted the family when his children were very young).
Young Carson did not distinguish himself at school but his mother believed in him and required him to go to the library weekly and to write reports on the books he checked out. She was illiterate, but her children (Ben and his brother) were unaware of that.
Dr. Carson discovered that learning was an adventure because of his mother's efforts and became an ardent student.
While preparing for a difficult test at grad school, Carson relented to weariness and while sleeping had a dream of difficult math problems being written on a blackboard. The next day, those same problems were on the test. Of course, he passed with flying colors.
In reading his biography, GIFTED HANDS, it becomes apparent that the hand of GOD has been upon this good and honorable man. His contributions to the field of medicine are incalculable. His involvement of himself in the political process is another of his gifts to his nation.
