USS INDIANAPOLIS: Men of Courage

USS INDIANAPOLIS: Men of Courage

This movie will remind you that 'freedom isn't free.'

From the days of the Revolution when men risked "their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor" for freedom, to the Civil War when brave men fought for states' rights and men's freedom, to WW II when brave men went to war to fight imperialist tyranny, there has been an exorbitant price tag on that commodity we call 'freedom.'

Cherish it.
Sacrifice for it.
Hold it close to your heart.
Bequeath it to your children.

Don't let ours be the generation that lets it slip away after so many other generations have given so much for it.

Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage stars as Captain McVay, the captain of the doomed WWII heavy cruiser, the USS Indianapolis. After completing its top secret mission to drop off components of the atomic bomb, the USS Indianapolis crossed the Philippine Sea without an escort. The I-58, a Japanese submarined helmed by Commander Hashimoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy, spotted them and fired six torpedoes into the ship.

The USS Indianapolis sank in a matter of minutes, leaving survivors in the water for days on end, awaiting rescue. Desperate for rescue. Desperate for a miracle.
