If
you've seen these fresh young faces lately, it's been at an old movie.
Decades have passed since these people were young. Carrie Frances
Fisher is deceased.
The passage of time stops for no one. We are all stepping along the same path they have trod toward old age and death. No matter where we may be along that common road of all humanity, we cannot know at what point we will be pulled aside and told that our journey is done.
Will we be ready?

Will we be ready?
There are so many things we typically put off until another day. That
phone call to an old friend. The visit to an aging parent. The gift we
want to present to someone precious. The truth we want to share.
But we're waiting for a more convenient season. We're too busy to make that call. We'll visit when the holiday is over and traffic is less intense. We'll buy that gift when it's on sale. We'll share our faith in CHRIST when an opportune time for an in-depth conversation comes up.
But the immutable Word of GOD tells us that tomorrow is promised to no one.
Ask Carrie Fisher. She was scheduled to be in two more STAR WARS sequels. Obviously, those script writers are busily re-writing them.
Her fate could befall any of us. Nobody knows the day or the hour of CHRIST'S return to earth and nobody knows the moment HIS death angel will come to escort him to the footstool of JESUS.
Tonight, we will 'ring out' 2016 and another year will open before us tomorrow. May the blessings of strength and health and accomplishment and prosperity and faith and hope and love attend us all as we enter 2017, but none of us has a guarantee that good things will be our portion.
The only thing we know for sure is that "it is appointed to man once to die and after that, the judgement."
We will either be received to the LORD to rule and reign with HIM forever or we will hear the awful words, "Depart from ME; I never knew you."
Which will it be for you? Which will it be for me?
It depends on what we do with the admonition to accept JESUS as personal SAVIOR and LORD, "TODAY, hear HIS voice; NOW is the accepted time of SALVATION."
