"A thousand years is as a day and a day is as a thousand years to GOD."
We measure time.
We break it down into manageable, measurable parts, but our HEAVENLY FATHER doesn't do that. HE doesn't need to make time manageable or measurable, for HE is already in complete charge of time.
We need our millennia, our centuries, our decades, our years, our
months, our weeks, our days, our hours, our minutes, our seconds in
order to establish the unfolding of the events of history and the
anticipation of the occurrences of the future. But GOD sees it
all--past, present, future--in one wide, extensive view.
HE sees each of our lives in their entirety. From the moment of our conception to the second that we slip into eternity, HE sees us and HE knows us. HE understands us. HE is not taken off guard by anything that touches our lives. HE is not befuddled by any challenge that faces us. HE is not helpless at the point of any need we encounter.
Because the LORD, the HOLY ONE, oversees our lives, we may enter the new year that is before us with boldness and confidence. We may be assured that HE who watches over us "never slumbers or sleeps." HE is not too busy to guide and guard our steps and HE is not too preoccupied with running the universe to protect and provide for us.
We may confidently place our New Year and ourselves in the hollow of HIS hand. We may be certain that the CHRIST who laid down HIS life for us 2000 years ago still loves us today. We may be sure that JESUS will "never fail us nor forsake us."
We may step confidently into the future with the assurance that the ONE at whose feet we have placed our lives is already there.
