The Light of Life

February 10
The Light of Life by Rod Parsley

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. —John 8:12

Where the light of truth shines, darkness must flee.

When the Pharisees brought the woman caught in adultery to Christ, it was with the intention that He would affirm that she be stoned, but He said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

Those gathered to stone the woman were convicted by their own consciences, and they slithered away until only Christ and the woman remained.

The light of truth emanating from Jesus exposed and revealed the darkness of sin in the hearts and lives of her self-righteous accusers that day. His light overcame their darkness.

It is not enough to look at the light: we must follow it, believe in it and walk in it. It is not only a light for our eyes but for our feet. We have the "light of life"—spiritual life in this world and eternal life in the next.

Rejoice that as a born-again believer you never need walk in darkness again! Isaiah 60:1 tells us, "Arise, shine; for the light is come."

Light of the world, I will follow You wherever You lead. I am lost without Your light. I am dead without Your life. Arise and shine in my life, Lord.” Amen
