Your Ever-present Shelter

·
We have enjoyed an unusually mild winter, but the wind is about to change and a significant storm is predicted for Tuesday.

This is a reminder that the best way to weather a storm is to be ready for it. Don't wait until the wind is blowing and the snow is swirling to look for your snow shovel so you can dig out your car and go to the grocery store for the staples you don't have.

Just as the wise person will be prepared for bad weather, he will also be ready for the spiritual storms that blow unexpectedly into his life.

The wise individual will not wait until the storm hits in order to pray...no...he will follow the scriptural admonition to "give myself unto prayer."

The wise individual will not wait until the storm hits in order to hold fast to the WORD of GOD...no...he will be anchored to the WORD that he has "hidden in his heart."

The wise individual will not wait until the storm hits in order to find fellowship among the people of GOD...no...he will have established himself in a church among "those of like precious faith" who will hold him up at his time of need.

The wise individual will not wait until the storm hits in order to establish himself as a person of faith...no...he will have sought GOD "with his whole heart," and he will have trusted in HIM through the good times and will be certain of HIS abiding through the storm.

No matter the condition of your "weather rope," your JESUS is your ever- present shelter.
