Italian Sons and Daughters of America

lure of America compelled them to leave behind their prosperous farms,
their culture, and their inheritance, in order to live in the land of
the free and the home of the brave.
They are portrayed as gangsters and mafioso, but the reality for the vast majority who emigrated from Italy was that they were far nobler than the hoodlums they are often perceived to be.
And when they came, they gave their toil and their tears to the betterment of this land -- and they gave their sons to protect this country from Nazi aggression.

the sacrifice and struggle of our Italian ancestors, who risked the
familiar in search of a future.
