Enemy of the State by Bill Wilson
There is an interesting article by Philip Bump of the Washington Post posted by the Standard-Examiner about how President Donald Trump sees the media as an enemy of the American people. Bump uses the opportunity to run down the President by saying that his rants are just added to the "lengthy column" of "Things Trump did that most other presidents would never do."
Then Bump gets to the point. He cites a Quinnipiac University poll that asked if certain news outlets were enemies of the American people. The results were nearly 40% said "yes" and more than 80% of Republicans surveyed said the media was an enemy of the American people.
Another poll Bump cites is Pew Research Center's survey on what it means to be a good citizen. Bump writes: "Only 8 percent of respondents said they had a great deal of confidence in the news media to act in the best interests of the public-with Democrats expressing a great deal or a fair amount of confidence more than three times the rate of Republicans."
Of course, Bump blames Trump for turning the people against the media. And this is part of the problem-the media itself is so biased that it cannot even fathom it is biased. The Media Research Center documents that the overwhelming majority of the media (some 80% -plus) votes Democratic--a direct correlation to the 90% negative news media against Trump and Republicans.
On April 24th, Trump wrote in an email to supporters: "My staff asked, "Mr. President, the White House Correspondents' Dinner is coming up. Will you go?" I said, "Why would I want to be stuck in a room with a bunch of fake news liberals who hate me?" I came up with something much better. I'm going to hold a rally in Michigan to spend the evening with my favorite deplorables who love our movement and love America!"
This is a far cry from the last Correspondents' Dinner attended by the immediate past president...he told them, "But we've always shared the same goal -- to root our public discourse in the truth; to open the doors of this democracy; to do whatever we can to make our country and our world more free and more just. And I've always appreciated the role that you have all played as equal partners in reaching these goals."
The ex president described a free press as one that partners with and has the same goals as the White House, his administration, in particular.
This is not a free press.
Trouble is, the news media, through years of communistic and socialistic brainwashing, largely has become the lapdog of leftists, Marxists, Islamists, and anarchists.
The press, rather than doing its job of reporting the facts, has become a massive opinion machine disguised as news. When the media abrogates its responsibility and aligns itself with a political ideal, Isaiah 59:14 comes to mind:
"And justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter."
And the media wonders why they are considered enemies of the American people. Strong delusion is upon them.
