HIS Faithfulness

HIS Faithfulness
This testimony begins many years ago. It originated in a little Pentecostal church where I was attending a prayer meeting with a friend.
The pastor’s wife was leading the prayer and she approached me and said, “I sense a deep fear in you. What is it that you are so afraid of?”
I told her that my beloved mother and a precious aunt had both had breast cancer and both had died of the disease. She prayed over me and said, “THE CURSE IS BROKEN.”
I have believed and stood on that word for decades.
The LORD has led us to many locations since that time and HE has been faithful to us through the many places we have lived and the many people we have known. HE has fulfilled HIS promises, that, “Greater is HE that is in you than he who is in the world,” as well as that HE would, “Supply all our needs, according to HIS riches in glory.”
We have enjoyed being pet owners and our choice has always been to own German shepherds. We have had several of this delightful and loyal breed through the years The most recent one that we obtained is a “recue dog.” Our sweet dog had reportedly not been well-treated by previous owners and I admit that I was initially concerned about having a dog of that size that had not been ours since puppyhood.
My fears were allayed when the LORD’S HOLY SPIRIT spoke to my heart and told me this dog would be the best of pets. We purchased her and brought her home. She immediately attached herself to my husband. She is a guardian angel to him! Wherever he goes, she follows. She is very loving to all the family but she definitely prefers him to anyone else in her life.
On her last visit to the vet, we were told that she had a hard lump in a mammary gland. Our dread was profound. She has made herself part of our family and we hated the thought of losing her.
When I prayed, I was unable to ask the LORD to heal her because – well – she’s a dog, but I did remind HIM of two things: 1. that HE encouraged us to get her, and 2. that He said the curse was broken.
When the vet called with the result of the lab work, she said that the lump is a cyst and perhaps the result of an ingrown hair. She said there would be no need for surgical removal but if she ever had to be anesthetized for any other reason, it could be removed then.
We are rejoicing that our precious JESUS has once again shown HIMSELF faithful to us – even to our sweet dog!
