I Wonder

 I Wonder

I wonder how many Republicans were ecstatic when FDR (the democrat who'd been elected to three terms) was struck by polio.
I was quite young when John F. Kennedy was assassinated, so I may be unable to remember everything surrounding the event with total accuracy, but neither I nor those older than me have any recollection of anything but tears on the part of the entire populace.
We all knew about his extra-marital affairs. We all knew his father had made incalculable wealth as a bootlegger. The rumor was that the mob had helped him to get elected. Rumors and innuendo abounded about JFK and his questionable associates.
But when he was fatally shot, we all wept.
And when Bill Clinton's associates were falling like flies, we recognized that there may have been mischief afoot in high places, but we mourned their loss.
Political affiliation did not factor in to the grief we all shared at the point of these tragic events that occurred within the democratic party.
But today, a Republican president is battling the scourge of this generation, and those on the left -- democrats -- are joyfully declaring their hope that Donald Trump will lose this fight.
What is wrong with those on the radical left? Beyond being blind to the ultimate consequence of their design for this free nation, they are also inured to all human compassion and concern!
May the LORD of CREATION move upon this land by the power of HIS HOLY SPIRIT and turn our hearts back to the SAVIOR who came to earth to "save sinners, of whom I am chief."
May the HOLY ONE move mightily upon the face of the deep divide that separates us not only politically but also crushes our humanity.
May people of faith be on their knees before HIM night and day so HE will be moved with compassion by our cries for our land and for our fellow citizens.
May HE unite us again at the foot of the cross and be compel by our fervent prayers to help us lay aside our godless hatred--and lift up this nation and its leaders in unrelenting prayer for our economic and physical and emotional and spiritual healing!
