"Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand." Matthew 3:2
Those words were first spoken by John the Baptist. They weren't fulfilled in his day, but he was taken to Heaven where the Kingdom promise was fulfilled for him.
GOD'S holy Word tells us that "it is appointed once to man to die, and after that the judgment." Hebrews 9:27
Each of us has an appointment and each of us will keep it. There is no postponing it. There is no revoking it. At the precise moment of our appointment, each of us will show up.
What will that appointment involve for you?
There are some who believe the deeds they have done while in the flesh shall be weighed in a balance and GOD'S eternal destiny for them will be decided based upon whether the good of their lives outweighs the bad.
There are some who believe life is a cycle of earthly sojourns. When one cycle concludes, another will begin -- perhaps in a form other than human.
There are some who believe in Purgatory -- that temporary abode of those who have perished outside of God's perfect will -- that place where contrition for ones sins and foibles can be fulfilled prior to entering Heaven.
There are some who believe death ends it all; that beyond the final breath is nothingness.
None of these common expectations fulfill the Word the LORD has spoken in the matter -- that one shall die and be judged.
The BIBLE, GOD'S inerrant WORD declares a truth every mortal who has ever lived will one day bow before -- "EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue shall confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD..." Philippians 2:10-11
JESUS is the "living WORD of GOD." HE came to show us how to live our lives in obedience and conformity to GOD'S will. JESUS lived the perfect life we are unable to live -- and HE lived it in our behalf. HE lived it so we may have eternal life in Heaven.
None of us is without sin. Sin is repugnant to our HOLY CREATOR. If we depart this earth with sin on our soul, we will have earned our place in hell.
If we allow the blood of JESUS to wash us clean of sin by accepting HIS sacrifice of HIS perfect life in our behalf, we can arrive at our appointment without the crimson stain of sin upon us.
We can be pure.
We can be white as the new-fallen snow.
