GUARD OUR HERITAGE
If you believe that America is a God-blessed nation, one with an explicitly Christian heritage, you're considered a threat to religious freedom and democracy? I kid you not. Our critics on the Left link our belief in America's Christian roots to so-called "Christian nationalism."
But I want you to know that if you celebrate America and God's grace on this land of liberty, you are in good company.
Take John Adams, our second president and signer of the Declaration of Independence. He insisted that: "The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were … the general principles of Christianity."
Samuel Adams, the "Father of the American Revolution" and a devout Christian, attached huge significance to the Declaration. Its signing, he said, "restored the Sovereign to whom alone men ought to be obedient … From the rising to the setting sun may His kingdom come."
These bold assertions are only the tip of the iceberg regarding America's inspiring Christian foundation. This is the history that has been scrubbed from most classrooms today and we must do all we can to restore the truth of the founding of this land by Christian people on Christian principles.
We must do all we can -- select accurate textbooks, hire godly teachers, encourage spiritual activities -- to preserve our God-given freedoms for our children and grandchildren. We must stand for truth and defend your freedom by praying for God's will to be restored to this land that was placed at His feet at its inception..
