No man left behind. That’s the policy of the military. Wounded, dying, unable to move ahead? Someone will carry you. The Lord has the same attitude toward His people. He doesn’t abandon the weak and weary. It is His policy to hold up the fallen hands, to strengthen the feeble knees, as was spoken of Job in Chapter 4:3, 4.
We seem to be moving away from God’s position in today’s society. Our national mindset is to abort the unwanted or imperfect. We are moving toward a ‘health’ care plan that relegates the sick to an untreated end. Though we have miracle drugs and highly skilled physicians, they will not be able to ply their abilities toward saving the elderly.
This is indeed contrary to the Word of God which says, “I will search for the lost and bring back the strays; I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak…” Ezekiel 34:16. Jesus came to save all from the ravages of our fallen world. His salvation package includes health and healing of body, mind, and spirit. But the verse does go on to indicate those who will face the wrath of the Lord!
It says…”but the sleek and the strong I will destroy! I will shepherd the flock with justice!” Those who are arrogant in their own conceit, those who turn the truth of the Holy One on its head, those who consider themselves above the law (those who voted for the health care bill, for example, excluded themselves from it) will answer ultimately to God’s higher law.
