What do you see when you look into a mirror? Do you see a face of vibrant youth and beauty or do you see the lines and blemishes of age? Do you see the lithe form of adolescence or the portly bulges of middle age? No matter what you see today, the probability is that as you increase in years, your appearance will change.
What do you see when you look into the Bible, the mirror of your soul? Do you see an individual who is changing from the self-oriented attitudes and behaviors of an unbeliever or are they entrenched in you? Do you see a person who is gaining an increasing measure of the gentle strength of faith or one who clings to the folly of unbelief?
Do you see someone who has made himself the center of his universe? Do you reign in your world? Are you master of all you survey, or have you handed the crown you once wore and the scepter that that you once wielded to Christ who you have allowed to become the true Lord of your life?
If you have made Jesus the One to whom your knee bows, then you may say as said the prophet in II Samuel 22:33-34, “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet sure and enables me to stand on the heights.” None can be strong or perfect or sure on his own, but with the Lord, there is nothing one may lack.
