Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray, Thee, Lord, my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray Thee, Lord, my soul to take.
But if I live for other days,
I pray Thee, Lord, to guide my ways.

Lord, Help Us Be Mindful

God help us to be mindful of our fleeting time on this planet. Help us not to cling to the things of Earth but to hold fast to You and to allow what is important to You as we traverse this Vale of Tears to be important to us.

We know that Your primary focus is the eternal well-being of Man, Your highest creation. Let us spend ourselves in pursuit of Your longing that "all men be saved and come to a knowledge of Christ," I Timothy 2:4, for if this is what moves Your heart, it should surely be what stirs ours.

No matter our station in life or our time allotted, let us be mindful that with You, all things are possible through prayer. Let our prayers always reflect Your "unspeakable GIFT" to us, II Corinthians 9:15.

May that gift, Jesus, who was crucified so all humanity may one day abide in Your mansion in glory, be made known to every kindred, nation, and tribe so You may have Your way in the heart of all mankind.
