Changing Times

The Times Are Changing

The times are changing. This is not a new phenomena, but it is an exacerbated reality.

For hundreds of years, things marched on as they were. There was little in the way of new developments in farming or in industry. Once the wheel was discovered, man plodded along behind it, cultivating his soil, harvesting his grain, producing his few manufactured goods.

Then, science and technology seemed to explode into our awareness! New and amazing things were offered to our astounded gaze that our eyes could not fathom! Yet we embraced them to ourselves and our lives were transformed.

The gadgetry that we find in today's modest kitchen would have boggled the mind of a brilliant scientist 200 years ago. And amid all the change that has transpired before our wondering eyes and our eager grasp is the one truth that abides forever.

The one thing that cannot change, no matter how advanced we become in science or technology, one thing that cannot be simplified or compounded by our progression toward further enlightenment is the WORD OF OUR HOLY GOD.

He who "inhabits eternity," Isaiah 57:15, has said of Himself, "I am the Lord; change not," Malachi 3:6. His path to salvation remains the same one that Jesus stated 2000 years ago, "I am the way, the truth, the life; no man comes to the Father but by Me," John 14:6.

Whether progress continues at its virtually unabated pace or whether man's proclivity to self-destruction reduces our world to rubble, God's truth shall stand. The only thing that can change regarding the immutable Word of our Holy Savior regards our position toward it.

Will we embrace it unto life or will we disdain it unto death?
