Presidential candidate Ted Cruz makes a viable point.
People of faith often neglect their right to vote because they have been indoctrinated into the concept that there is no place for politics in their religion and there is no place for religion in politics.
That idea flies in the face of the beliefs of our founding fathers who were men of faith and whose concept of a free land where men could enjoy freedom without persecution was instituted.

Those who consider themselves to be believers in Christ must go to the
polls on election day and vote for the individual(s) who best represent
their values. They must not be swayed by superficial aspects about a
candidate--his political background, his skin color, his wealth or
social status.
No, the voter should cast his vote for the man who not only professes his own values but who lives his own values. Investigate each candidate and support the one(s) who support what you believe; who live what you live.
Nor must we forget to pray:
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14
