RAIN

Rain

There's something about rain. Oh, yes, it sometimes pours down at inopportune times. There's a reason we can identify with the old saying about rain on our parade, but the reality of the matter is that rain serves several good functions.

Without rain, there will be no harvest of crops. The seeds we've planted--seeds of truth and hope and life and love won't produce optimally if there is a drought.

Without rain there can be no cleansing. The dust of our trials and tribulations leaves a dismal coat upon our lives, but the rain that pours upon them washes them away and leaves us with renewed hope.

Without rain, there is no refreshing. The accumulated grime of a thousand disappointments and the accumulated loss of all our dashed hopes leave us barren of the realization of our dreams, but the rain of Heaven poured over us gives us another reason to believe that "all things work together for good to those who love the Lord, to those who are called according to His purposes." Romans 8:28
