By My Spirit

"Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord." Zechariah 4:6

To human observation, nations rise and fall as military might increases or decreases, and the status of a country among the governments of the world depends upon the allegiance--or control--of their citizenry.

But in the heavenly scheme of things, power is bestowed by the Lord of all Creation upon whom He will. Of His ultimate authority He says, "I raise up one and put down another." Psalm 75:7

That truth is revealed in the affairs of men as well as of nations. Some achieve power and wealth while others remain obscure in their influence and in their achievements.

The one thing that levels the playing field on which each endeavors to attain his goals is the admonition of Christ Himself: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33

He does not promise that all the desires of the human heart will be supplied to the seeker of His Kingdom, but He does promise that the fulfillment of every need will be the portion of the one who places his life at the disposal of the King of kings.
