...for Christmas

...for Christmas

“Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love never fails.” I Corinthians 13:6-8

Why would God leave Heaven, come to earth as a humble man, live an obscure life for 30 years, minister for three years to a people who had Him crucified, die an ignominious death, and arise with the promise that anyone who accepted His sacrifice would live with Him forever?

Live with Him forever in Heaven! In Heaven!

Why would God leave a place where angels gather continually around His throne, proclaiming, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY..." Revelation 4:8, where angels eternally proclaim His glory, to walk among men who would mock Him, scoff at His words, and condemn Him to death?

Why would God die for those who reject Him to the uttermost?

Wouldn't a god, wouldn't any god, wouldn't THE GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH let His wrath consume such men rather than die for them? Wouldn't such a holy being be totally justified in relegating these arrogant, godless men to the pit of hell? To eternal damnation?

Yes, HE would...

But the nature of GOD is LOVE...I John 4:8, LOVE is the essence of who HE is.

Because JESUS loves; because HE knew there was no other way men might be saved, Acts 4:12, HE left the corridors of glory to walk among us. He laid His glory down that we might be glorified through HIS sacrifice.

"No greater love has any man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

He died for love...HE DIED BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU.

Receive that "unspeakable gift of love," II Corinthians 9:15, this Christmas.
