When JESUS CHRIST arrived at Bethlehem as a Babe, He seemed like any ordinary newborn child.
He was helpless...He required the absolute care and provision of Mary HIS mother and of Joseph, the man who had been tasked to play the role of a good and godly father in HIS life.
HE was penniless. HE had not been born into great wealth. HE had left the riches of HEAVEN to learn the carpenters' trade so HE could eek out a living among other poor people.

HE was ordinary. GOD'S WORD says of HIM that there was nothing compelling about HIM that we should desire HIM.
Yet, in spite of HIS seeming ordinariness, JESUS had brought with HIM a salvation package that would transform the lives of those who would believe in HIS name.
Dear LORD GOD, help each of us to see beyond the guise of YOUR HUMANITY to the heart of YOUR DEITY. Help us to look past the helpless BABE in the manger to the glory of YOUR ETERNAL BEING.
Help us to look past YOUR work as a carpenter to YOUR infinite creation of everything that exists.
Help us to look past YOUR poverty to the eternal treasure YOU extend to everyone who will receive it.
Help us to look to YOU for health and joy in time and everlasting bliss forever because YOU are so much more than YOU appear to be; because YOU are so much more than what YOU seem.
