"I'll be home for Christmas" is a wonderful song that expresses the heart of everyone who is separated from their loved ones. School, professional requirements, military obligations have a way of taking people far from the family hearth.
The resolve of those who live away from the family and friends with whom their hearts have strong connections is to make their way back to the warm, intimate circle where they once lived so they can celebrate the joy of this precious holiday together.
But one group who cannot entertain the notion of a trip home for
Christmas is the men and women of our military who are stationed far
away from loved ones and who are not allotted travel time for the
purpose of reconnecting with those closest to their hearts
To those whose vigilance affords us the security of safe communities and cozy firesides, to those whose distance from their families allows us to be close to ours, to those who give much in order that we might enjoy the little things that mean a lot, we say, with heartfelt and sincere gratitude, "THANK YOU."
