Important Points by Jenny Beth Martin
What a week! President Trump delivered a legendary State of the Union address, highlighting job growth, economic growth, criminal justice reform, more women in the work force, and other achievements of the administration.
Not only did 76% of Americans approve of his speech, but it resonated with divided members of Congress. Even the women in white were clapping at one point, President Trump’s list of guests made a lasting impression, and his ending remarks reminded members of Congress of the greatness we have achieved and that we can continue to achieve.
We are a nation built by strong, idealists who saw the importance of opportunity, innovation and success. President Trump told the nation it will never come under the rule of socialism. Applause erupted, yet one Democratic Socialist, in particular, was not amused; can you guess who?
More importantly, President Trump made a compelling case for border security. He boldly stated: ”In the past, most of the people in this room voted for a wall — but the proper wall never got built. I’ll get it built.”
President Trump challenged Congress to provide funding for a border wall and to stop using politics to justify the continuance of violence, drug and human trafficking, and illegal immigration at our southern border.
Congress has a responsibility to the American citizens it represents. If they would rather represent illegal immigrants, then they should step down and stop pretending that they have the interests of Americans at heart. It’s time to put America first!
Urge your members of Congress to support President Trump’s agenda and to approve funding for much-needed border security.

It was also a big week for some of President Trump’s nominees, some who faced relentless questioning by Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Judicial nominee Neomi Rao remained composed as Democrats like Sen. Corey Booker put her through ridiculous questioning. ”Have you ever had any LGBTQ law clerks?” Booker asked.
Rao responded: ”Senator, I’ve yet to be a judge. I don’t have law clerks.”
On Tuesday, she showed why she would be another outstanding judge. We hope Senate Democrats will stop the bullying tactics, stop the gridlock, and confirm Trump’s well-qualified nominees.
H.R. 1 is the definition of corruption and Tea Party Patriots Action, along with other conservatives, are going to stop it in its tracks.
H.R. 1 is a resolution crafted by House Democrats to undermine the American electoral system, but it is disguised as a way to ”restore democracy” and ”prevent corruption.”
H.R. 1 undermines the First Amendment.
H.R. 1 yanks election authority away from the states.
H.R. 1 attacks individual voter integrity.
Among other draconian changes, H.R. 1 would cause sweeping and irrevocable damage to the free speech, privacy, and integrity that are central components to free and fair elections in America. We oppose H.R. 1 in the strongest terms and urge all conservatives to do likewise.
