Something similar to this occurred here when a Russian delegation visited my husband's local office because the two groups were cooperating in a joint project.
Upon the visit to a grocery store, the Russians were shocked at the enormity of choices that were available for average Americans at the local Safeway. In fact, they thought it was a "set up," that this was not the typical grocery store.
They were taken to two others and found them to be equally stocked with foodstuff of every kind.
Their amazement knew no bounds when they were then taken to a Wal-Mart, where there was not only a well-stocked grocery store but also an amazing department store under the same roof.
One can only imagine the comparison they made in their minds at the realization that ordinary American citizens had access to the bounty that only the loftiest members of the Politbureau had in their country.
Perhaps Bernie Sanders should do a little grocery shopping.
