Speak Truth and Grace in Love by Dr. Jim Denison
I recently read this kind comment from a Daily Article reader:

| "Thank you for all you do. It is refreshing to hear a Christian perspective that truly reflects the nature of Christ—full of grace and truth." —Ben C. |

toI was pleased to read that because it means our mission is on target. In a culture that seems more unbiblical—event antibiblical—by the day, Christians who speak both grace and truth can often sound like "the voice of one crying out in the wilderness" (John 1:23).
But we must be careful never to sacrifice one for the other.
Those who speak only grace forget the righteousness of God.
Those who speak only truth forget the love of God.
As I've previously written, here’s the balance:
God’s truth leads us to obedience that positions us to experience God’s grace. The most gracious thing we can do for others, therefore, is to offer them biblical truth.
We need to do so with humility in love, but they deserve to know God’s word on the issues we face.
And that's where our mission begins: to speak the truth in love to a culture in desperate need of God's grace and truth.
Our desire is :
to be salt and light where they are.
to speak the truth in love to those in need.
Pray for us, that God will allow us to continue to reach the lost with His truth and His love. If Jesus loves us enough to have died in our place, surely that message deserves to be spread far and wide so everyone will know.
Together, let's keep speaking God's truth with God's grace to a culture in desperate need of both. |
