Be Not Overcome


"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21

The Apostle Paul wrote those words in a day when the Roman Empire was bent upon the destruction of Christians, when they were tortured and slain because of their love for Jesus. In some parts of the world, the same thing is happening today.

In our part of the world there is a more subtle persecution of people of faith--whether mocking an honorable young man like Tim Tebow for his faith or whether sending children home from school who carry a Bible to class, the faith of our founding fathers is being denigrated today by the government they set in place to assure freedom of religion.

What can we do when our leaders "call good evil and evil good"? Isaiah 5:20

We can stand for righteousness and we can live the Christ life before everyone whose life touches ours.

We can know beyond the shadow of doubting that in the end, JESUS WILL PREVAIL!

We can know that ultimately, "EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD..." Philippians 2:10, 11

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Philippians 4:8
