“Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." JESUS in Matthew 18:19
LORD JESUS, I pray for those in America that are hurting and grieving for the violence, loss of life and deterioration of our Nation's unity. I pray for calm and peace and unity and love to be restored.
I pray that the billions of prayers our Forefathers and past generations have lifted to YOUR throne of mercy and grace will be brought into remembrance before YOU, O merciful and gracious GOD.
I pray YOU will allow us to have godly leaders--that YOU will raise men
who are renewed in the inner man by the shed blood of JESUS, men who
walk in truth and integrity.
May YOU use these men that YOU raise up to repair and restore what is broken in this land--things like faith, honor, truth, personal integrity, love, unity. This can be done if we come together under God and if we will forgive one another as YOU, O CHRIST, have forgiven us.
We must forgive the sins of the past--the historic and recent past--so these sins will not provoke perpetual sowing and reaping. I pray for a great spirit of forgiveness to hover over our country so the healing of the hearts of the broken, the disillusioned, the disappointed can become a reality.
Remind the people of America, who call themselves CHRISTIANS, that we are our brothers' keeper; let us come in like a flood of mercy and kindness and compassion when the enemy strives to destroy the goodness and help that we owe to one another.
Help us to remember that it is our privilege to reflect JESUS' light and love in this present darkness because HE uses people to shine HIS light.
