There was an article in today's news line-up about the purported injustice of the NFL toward Colin Kapernack, the former player who refused to stand for the national anthem.
Mr. Kapernack has never repented (to use a Christian term) of his behavior. Kapernack insists he is not protesting the flag but the oppression against people of color that exists in America. If that is true, his motive is honorable.
I wonder what he is doing to actually remedy that injustice.
Is he working within the minority community to encourage young people to study hard and obtain a good education that will lead to an improved life?
Is he standing strong for marriage?
Is he encouraging fathers of illegitimate children to "man-up" to their responsibilities by supporting their children financially and morally and academically and spiritually?
Is he encouraging young men and women to avoid the snare that is so common within the community to comply with the promiscuity that is rampant within it?
Is he living the Catholic faith he professes that promotes honor and morality in all relationships?
Is he evidencing respect toward the nation that was color blind when it came to his own success?
Moral up-bringing, faith in Jesus, honor, education -- these are the true, powerful weapons in the warfare against prejudice in all its forms. Were Mr. Kapernack to promote these, I would be one of his staunchest supporters in whatever game of life he chose to play.

When a 95 year old war hero uses every ounce of strength he has and needs help to stand and salute his war hero friend at his casket. This is why we dont take a knee during the National Anthem.
