NEED Defined by Brad Reichs
"And my God shall supply all of your needs
according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 4:19
according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 4:19
Cool! Very
cool, in fact. But what does it really mean? What is a "need" and how
is it determined? Food? Clothing? Shelter?
Jesus said that if you seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all of your needs will be taken care of (see Matthew 6:25-34) but, again, what does that mean practically?
As I seek to define "need" in light of scripture I'm challenged by the fact that God has called some to be martyrs...and human definitions are remarkably subjective.
So here's my understanding of what "need" is according to the Bible:
Need: "Whatever is necessary for you to become the person God has created you to be, and to accomplish the work that God has given you to do."
