A Picture is worth a thousand words.
A few years ago, two Russian gentlemen visited the U.S. for the first time. They were the guests of a company that had been contracted to do some construction work in their country.
As part of their welcome to the U.S., they were given a brief tour of the small community in which they were guests. Part of the tour included a visit to a local grocery store.
The Russians were
amazed at the shelves which were laden with choices of innumerable items
for selection. They openly stated to their hosts that this grocery
store had to be a 'set up,' that it was a fabrication; that it existed
simply to deceive them into believing a lie about the prosperity of
America.
Their own grocery stores offered nothing like this, in fact, they were noted for having long lines of shoppers waiting to buy simple basics such as bread.
They insisted on seeing another store, so they were taken from Food Lion to Martins...when they were still unconvinced, they were taken to Wal-Mart which has not only a grocery store but also an amply-stocked department store under one roof.
This happened in a small Virginia town that like so many other obscure American communities, has shopping in abundance.
Keep this in mind when you cast your vote.
