When the most important thing our representatives have to debate is the question of how large their next raise should be, we have allowed the wrong people to occupy this high office.
When working citizens cannot be assured that the monies they have paid faithfully into the social security coffer their entire working lives will be available when they're entitled to receive them because they have been allocated elsewhere, we have allowed the wrong people to occupy this high office.
When Americans are concerned about the threat of an influx of
terrorists and illegal aliens into our nation because our borders are
not secure; when those same threats to our security are recipients of
monies doled out by our leaders, we have allowed the wrong people to
occupy this high office.
When our nation has become a laughing stock to the world because of our failure as citizens to hold our representatives to the promises they made when running for office, perhaps we have people voting who are not putting the welfare of our nation and its citizens at the top of their list of priorities.
