The BIBLE is the WORD of LIFE, for in it we discover the ONE who is LIFE. JESUS is "the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE, " and of HIMSELF HE says, "...no man comes to the FATHER but by ME." John 14:6
Indeed, SALVATION through CHRIST, our SAVIOR and LORD comes through the WORD, but there is a secondary purpose that we must not overlook.
When we have received JESUS, when we have been BORN AGAIN into the
family of GOD, we are expected to begin to take on the traits of HIS
family.
We must no longer indulge the attitudes and behaviors--the beliefs that motivate the attitudes and behaviors--of the world; rather, we must be transformed by "the renewing of our mind," Romans 12:2, so our attitudes and behaviors will be conformed to those of believers in CHRIST.
As we allow that to occur within us, we will become the "living epistles, read of all men," II Corinthians 3:2,3, that the WORD admonishes us to be.
