"Therefore
we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as
CHRIST was raised from the dead through the glory of the FATHER, so we
too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4
To belong fully to CHRIST we must first recognize that we do not belong to ourselves. HIS ownership of us must transcend all that we are--all we think, all we say, all we do must be surrendered to HIM.
Our submission of ourselves to HIM, to HIS KINGDOM'S purposes must include our actual "dying to our 'self' so we may be fully alive to JESUS."

That sounds like a lofty purpose to which most believers would gladly
give themselves, except for the fact that it entails a diminishing of
the perception of who we are in the eyes of others.
Are we really willing to abandon the achievements and possessions that elevate us in the esteem of others? Are we willing to become what the world perceives as 'losers' in order to be 'winners' in GOD'S eyes? Do we really believe the old saying that "little is much if GOD is in it"?
If we can truly die to the world and its fleeting accolades and rewards, then we can rise to the glorious purpose that the HOLY ONE has for us.
When we are risen in CHRIST, we are worthy tools in HIS HANDS as HE builds HIS KINGDOM in one heart at at time.
