Instead of going into the Christmas season thinking about all of the demands that will come, why not start by filling up with God’s promises instead?

Whether it’s spending quiet time praying to Him, reading His Word or writing to Him in your journal, ask God to change your heart before filling your schedule so you can shine His light in the midst of the busyness and focus on the true joy of the holiday season.

If the parties and the gifts and the food preparation are all you think about, you will have robbed yourself of the true treasure of this lovely season.

Allow yourself to be filled with the wonder of the GOD of Glory who entered the world as a helpless babe in Bethlehem so HE could deliver fallen men from the consequences of their sin.

Let JESUS fill your heart and your spirit and your mind as you go about preparing for the celebration before you and you will receive much more than temporal gifts when family and friends gather to exchange tokens of their love…and you will have much more than temporal gifts to give to those you love.
